Yes Maria, they do.
Thanks, IR. Maria, normally I only use quickie Japanese headlines if the meaning of the post stands on its own; I have a few readers who are intermediate Japanese learners, and I figure it always helps to see kanji compounds. Sorry I used them in a vague context this time. As IR says, yes, it was an earthquake, and not Mothra landing or a volcano erupting.
